I’m John and I’m obsessed with home automation. Ever since my wife and I moved into our house in 2013 my goal has been to make the house as self sufficient as possible. I have learned, and continue to learn, a ton about home automation and I hope to share my advice and experiences with you along the way.
I have worked in the technology field since 2001, but my obsession with technology goes back to when I was a kid. By the time I was 10, my parents friends and neighbors were asking me to put together their electronics and show them how they worked. When I was 14, my dad bought a IBM 486DX2 PC and I promptly stripped it to its base parts. After a lot of getting yelled at and a couple hours of reassembly, there was no denying my obsession with technology would become a lifestyle.
I have a Bachelors in Computer Science and currently work for a large software company. I have held positions as a programmer, web developer, network administrator and software solutions architect. When I’m not working my full time job, automating my house or writing about home automation, I also fix and build computers.
You will only find my honest opinions and real life experiences on this site. To date, no one has provided me with any products and I have not made a penny from my reviews…although I do hope that this site will someday support itself. I hope you find the content here useful!
